Zillow is now in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, through three different doors. On 19 October 2026 it launched a connector for Claude that lets people “explore homes for sale or rent, check home values and estimate what they can afford within the AI assistant”. It joins Zillow’s app in ChatGPT (6 October 2025, homes for sale and rentals) and Zillow Rentals in Gemini (July 2026, rentals and tour booking only). In every one, the next step (a tour, an agent, a loan) happens on Zillow.

Zillow is the only portal we found in all three assistants. Five portals have a ChatGPT app: Zillow, Redfin, Zumper, Realtor.com and Apartments.com, which went live on 10 August 2026. We found no Claude or Gemini app from any of the other four. When we asked on 25 October 2026 which real estate sites have ChatGPT apps, ChatGPT named three of the five and Gemini named one, so the table below is the part the assistants themselves get wrong.

The short answer: three assistants, three Zillow doors

GeminiJuly 2026 (Zillow’s post is dated 9 July)Rentals onlyFind apartments, see tour times”The search starts in Gemini. The tour books on Zillow.”

Dates and wording are from Zillow’s own releases and posts, checked 25 October 2026. Zillow’s 21 October post adds that ChatGPT and Claude “use the same Zillow Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection”, while Gemini “uses a separate connection focused only on rentals”.

What should you do about Zillow in the AI assistants?

3 questions, 15 seconds.

Question 1 of 3

Where are your rentals listed today?

Question 2 of 3

What matters most to you right now?

Question 3 of 3

How many rentals do you list in a month?

Your answer

Get the rental on Zillow first

Zillow says its ChatGPT app shows the same listings people already see on Zillow, and its Claude connector covers rentals too. A rental that's live on Zillow is part of what it connects. Posting in Zillow Rental Manager is free.

How to get rentals on Zillow

Your answer

Check your listing the way a renter sees it

Open your Zillow listing and confirm the price, photos, availability and pet rules. In Gemini, Zillow says what a renter sees depends on the property's configuration, with Book a Tour on instant-tour listings and Request a Tour on the rest.

How the Zillow network works

Your answer

Send the same rental to more portals

Zillow isn't the only portal with an assistant app. Redfin, Zumper, Realtor.com and Apartments.com all have ChatGPT apps, and each shows listings from its own site. Reallyo sends a rental you enter once through partner feeds, including the HotPads feed Zillow's network takes. The free plan covers one active listing.

What does the Zillow connector do in Claude?

It brings Zillow’s listings, maps, home values and affordability tools into a Claude chat, free and without a Zillow account. Zillow’s help page says it brings “for-sale, rental, and off-market home listings” into Claude and ChatGPT, and that you can “check a Zestimate” and estimate what you can afford. A search can be as plain as Zillow’s own example, “Show me apartments for rent in Seattle under $2,500 a month”. You add it in Claude under Customize, then Connectors.

Zillow’s SVP of AI, Josh Weisberg, framed the launch around what comes after the answer: “This connector helps Claude users take the next step through Zillow: a tour, an agent, a loan officer. The conversation doesn’t stop with providing information, it leads to a way to make it happen.”

One detail is worth reading closely. Zillow’s release says people can request a tour or connect with an agent “in the same conversation”. Its help page describes the connector as “read-only” and lists “Contact an agent or request a tour” among things the connector itself can’t do. Put together, the tour is a handoff: Claude finds the home, and you finish on Zillow. The help page also says “Zillow.com is the source of record for listing prices and availability.”

What does Zillow share with Anthropic and OpenAI?

Zillow says it doesn’t send listing data to either company. For Claude, its release says: “Zillow doesn’t send data to Anthropic; instead, Zillow’s own MLS-approved listing display appears within Claude, with the same broker and MLS attribution as on Zillow.com.”

For ChatGPT, Zillow Group’s 9 October 2025 post says the same thing in more detail: “Zillow is not sending OpenAI a feed of MLS data.” It also explains when the app shows up: “when a user explicitly includes Zillow as the first word in their message”, or when ChatGPT recommends Zillow for a relevant housing prompt. If a ChatGPT query doesn’t say whether you want rentals or homes for sale, “the experience defaults to for-sale listings”, so rental searchers should say “rentals” or “for rent”.

What does Zillow do in ChatGPT and Gemini?

ChatGPT is the broad door and Gemini is the narrow one. In ChatGPT, Zillow’s release says “the experience supports most listing types, including rentals and homes for sale by agents or owners”. Consumers see “listing photos, property details, maps and pricing as well as broker and MLS attribution”.

Gemini is built around one job. Zillow’s post says renters can ask Gemini for apartments “with tours available on Zillow”, see booking times in the chat, and click through to confirm. Listings with instant tours show a Book a Tour option, and all other properties show Request a Tour. Zillow says instant touring is live across “thousands of Zillow Rentals listings” and expects coverage to grow this year, and that the booking ends up “connecting them directly to the property manager”.

Which other portals have AI assistant apps?

Four other portals have ChatGPT apps, and we found none with a Claude or Gemini app. “Not found” means we searched on 25 October 2026 and saw nothing, not that none exists. We didn’t see OpenAI’s own directory pages, which don’t load for scrapers, so the dates below come from each portal’s own announcement.

PortalChatGPT appClaudeGeminiWhat the portal says
Zillow6 October 202519 October 2026July 2026 (rentals only)“the only real estate app available in ChatGPT” at launch
Redfin6 February 2026Not foundNot foundLaunched “this week”, per its 6 February release
ZumperAnnounced 13 February 2026Not foundNot found”Your listings are automatically eligible to surface in the ChatGPT app” if listed on Zumper
Realtor.com30 March 2026Not foundNot foundShows “a preview of property images and details” and sends people to Realtor.com
Apartments.comAnnounced 17 June, live 10 August 2026Not foundNot foundRenters can “explore your listing and submit a lead” in ChatGPT

Two of these are rental specialists, which matters if you list rentals. Zumper and Apartments.com each tell advertisers that listings on their site are what appears in their ChatGPT app. Apartments.com adds that images “are pulled directly from your listing, not from unauthorized sources across the internet”.

What does this mean for rental listings?

A rental that’s live on Zillow is part of what Zillow connects to these assistants. Zillow’s 21 October post says the ChatGPT app “shows the same listings and information people already see on Zillow”, and its ChatGPT FAQ says rentals are among the listing types displayed. The Claude release gives the same broker and MLS attribution “as on Zillow.com”. Whether you posted the rental in Zillow Rental Manager or it arrived by a feed Zillow accepts, it’s a Zillow listing, and Zillow’s help page calls Zillow.com the source of record for price and availability.

What Zillow hasn’t published is how the assistants choose or order the listings they show. We found no Zillow statement on it, so we won’t guess. The practical read is narrower: the assistants are another way into inventory Zillow already has, so the work that matters is the work that already mattered. Get the rental on Zillow, keep price and availability current, and fill in photos, pets and tour options. For Gemini, tour setup matters directly, because Zillow says what a renter sees depends on “the property’s configuration”.

If you’re not on Zillow yet, our guides cover the Zillow Rentals Network and how feeds get approved. Renters don’t stay in one place either. Zillow’s own 2026 Consumer Housing Trends Report, quoted in its Gemini post, says “the typical renter uses five different sites or apps during their search”. The same logic applies to the other portals above, and our portal comparison covers what each one costs.

What we’d do

  1. Make Zillow your first listing, then check it. Open Zillow and Zillow Rentals and see exactly what a renter sees: price, photos, availability, pet rules.
  2. Turn on tours where you can. Gemini is the one place Zillow surfaces booking times, and they depend on how the listing is set up.
  3. Ask the assistants about your own building. Say “Zillow” in the prompt, as Zillow advises, and add “for rent”. It takes a minute, and you’ll see your listing the way a renter does.
  4. Don’t treat an assistant as a separate listing site. There’s nothing to submit. Zillow, Zumper and Apartments.com each say the app shows what’s already listed with them.

Where Reallyo fits

Reallyo is our product, so weigh this accordingly. It doesn’t control what ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini show, and it isn’t connected to them. What it does is the step before: you enter a rental once and it sends the listing out through 11 partner feeds, including HotPads, the feed Zillow’s network takes, plus Realtor.com, Apartments.com and Zumper. Its homepage lists 19 rental sites in the network. The free plan covers one active listing with syndication included, and paid plans run $39 to $89 a month. It’s US rentals only, and each portal decides for itself whether to accept a listing.

FAQ

Can you connect Claude to Zillow? Yes. Zillow launched a Claude connector on 19 October 2026. In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors, find Zillow and select Connect. Zillow says it’s free and doesn’t need a Zillow account.

Is there a Zillow app in ChatGPT? Yes. Zillow launched it on 6 October 2025, and Zillow says it supports most listing types, including rentals and homes for sale. Start your message with “Zillow” so ChatGPT uses it, and say “for rent” if you want rentals, because it defaults to for-sale listings when unclear.

Is Zillow available in Gemini? Yes, for rentals only. Zillow Rentals became a connected app in Google Gemini in July 2026 (Zillow’s post is dated 9 July), and it shows apartments with tour options. Booking is confirmed on Zillow.

Does Zillow send data to Anthropic or OpenAI? Zillow says no. For Claude, its release says Zillow “doesn’t send data to Anthropic” and that its own MLS-approved listing display appears in Claude. For ChatGPT, Zillow Group said it is “not sending OpenAI a feed of MLS data”.

Can the Zillow connector in Claude book a tour? Not by itself. Zillow’s help page lists contacting an agent or requesting a tour among things the connector can’t do, and says the connector is read-only. Zillow’s release describes the tour as a next step through Zillow, so you finish on Zillow.

Does the Zillow connector show Zestimates? Yes. Zillow’s help page says you can check a Zestimate, a Rent Zestimate and Zestimate history, and describes them as estimates, not appraisals.

Which real estate sites have apps in ChatGPT? We found five: Zillow (6 October 2025), Redfin (6 February 2026), Zumper (13 February 2026), Realtor.com (30 March 2026) and Apartments.com (live 10 August 2026). We found no Claude or Gemini app from the last four, as of 25 October 2026.

How do I get my rental listings into ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini? You don’t submit them to the assistants. Zillow, Zumper and Apartments.com each say their apps show listings already on their sites, so the route is getting the rental onto those portals with a complete, current listing.

Do Zillow’s assistant apps cost anything? For renters and buyers, Zillow says the Claude connector is free. You need a Claude or ChatGPT account, and the help page lists Free plans for both.
