- Leasing Agent A leasing agent is a real estate professional who specializes in renting properties rather than selling them. They market available units, show them to prospective renters, screen applicants, and handle the lease paperwork on behalf of a landlord or property management company.
- Real Estate Broker vs. Agent A real estate agent is licensed to help clients buy and sell, but must work under a broker. A broker has completed additional education and licensing, and can operate independently, run a brokerage, and supervise or employ agents.
- Realtor A Realtor is a real estate professional who is an active, dues-paying member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The term is a registered trademark — it means an NAR member specifically, not any licensed agent, broker or appraiser.
- Realtor vs. Real Estate Agent All Realtors are real estate agents, but not all agents are Realtors. A Realtor is a licensed real estate agent who is also a dues-paying member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and agrees to follow its Code of Ethics.
