Question 3 of 4

Are you willing to use multiple tools together?

Question 4 of 4

How important is video, social content and AI search for your listings?

Your answer

YouGotListings for brokerage operations

You run a rental brokerage and need a back office. YouGotListings handles the operations layer well: a CRM, inventory management, a network of licensed professionals for co-broke deals, showing automation, applications, credit reports and lease e-signatures. It syndicates to the portals on its paid agent plans, but it's not built to market listings on social or video. That's not its job.

Your answer

Reallyo for listing marketing reach

Your listings need to show up where renters search beyond the portals: Reels and TikTok, social feeds and print. Reallyo syndicates to the portals like YouGotListings does (19 rental sites in its network), then generates a listing page, an AI listing video, social posts, print flyers with QR codes and a lead-answering chatbot on your agent website. It's free to start and built for agents and small teams who want marketing reach without a brokerage back office.

YouGotListings + Reallyo together

Run YouGotListings for your brokerage operations and CRM, then layer Reallyo on top for the marketing reach YGL doesn't provide: keep your existing back office and add a video, social posts and a flyer for each rental. Since Reallyo is free to start, you can test it on one listing and compare the enquiries.

Free syndication & listing marketing List Once. Syndicate and Market your listings. Everywhere. Reallyo sends your rental to Zillow, Apartments.com and the rest of its 19-site rental network, then turns it into a listing page, a video, social posts and flyers. Free for one active listing, no card.

The best YouGotListings alternative depends on which part of YGL you’d replace. For marketing each listing beyond the portals (a listing page, a video, social posts and flyers, on top of syndication), it’s Reallyo, which is free to start. Landlords who want syndication with screening built in should look at TurboTenant or Innago; ShowMojo suits teams whose bottleneck is showings, and Rental Beast gives agents a rental-inventory database. (Disclosure: Reallyo publishes this blog and is one of the products compared.)

If you rent apartments in Greater Boston, you already know YouGotListings: it’s the listing and lead tool a big share of Boston brokerages run their rentals on. Getting a listing onto the portals is table stakes, and YGL does that. Our view is that portal syndication alone no longer reaches every renter, and that’s the gap the alternatives below fill in different ways.

What’s changed (October 2026). YGL rebuilt its site and plans this year. It now pitches “one platform for every rental professional” (listings, leads, showings, applications, credit reports and lease signing), and its plan page shows portal syndication on the paid agent plans only: the free owner and manager account shares listings with YGL’s network of licensed professionals instead. Paid plans now also include a landing page for each listing. On the renter side, Apartments.com’s Q2 2026 survey of nearly 27,000 renters found 85% use a listing site or app, so the portals still matter most. We’ve updated the comparison below for both.

What is YouGotListings?

YouGotListings (YGL) is a rental-listing platform for licensed agents, brokerages, owners and managers. Its core is syndication plus a shared inventory: post once and YGL sends the listing to rental portals such as Zillow, Trulia, HotPads, Apartment List, PadMapper, Rent.com and Zumper, with Apartments.com and Realtor.com taking listings that show a full address. Around that sit lead management and a CRM, showing automation, online applications, TransUnion credit reports and lease e-signatures.

What YouGotListings costs. YGL publishes three plans (plans page, checked 19 October 2026), with no contract or setup fee:

  • Owners & Managers: $0 a month. No licence needed. Listings are shared with YGL’s network of licensed professionals rather than syndicated to the portals.
  • Individual: $50 a month for one licensed agent or broker, plus $50 a month for each extra user.
  • Team: $195 a month with 20 users included, plus $100 a month for each extra 10 users. API access and data feeds cost $50 a month more, on this plan only.

Each account covers listings in one state.

To answer what people actually search: yes, YouGotListings is legit. It’s an established, Y Combinator–backed company (TechCrunch covered the Boston start-up in 2011) that’s been a fixture of the Greater Boston rental scene for over a decade. A real product doing real work, YGL is simply built around the portal feed and the deal workflow, not around marketing each listing.

The renter audience is fragmented: the portals are only one piece

A Boston renter’s search in 2026 doesn’t live on a single portal. Apartments.com’s 2026 survey puts numbers on it: listing sites lead at 85%, but a third of renters also use property websites (33%), word of mouth (33%) and search engines (32%). The search spreads across:

  • Portals: still the biggest channel, which is why syndication stays table stakes.
  • Search: “luxury studio South End,” “3 bed near Tufts.” Long-tail Google queries land on web pages, and a listing with its own website has one to land on.
  • Social: a short Reel of a Back Bay one-bed reaches renters who aren’t on a portal yet.
  • AI assistants: still small. Only 4% of renters in the same survey used a chatbot like ChatGPT in their search, though 41% said they’d be likely to rely on one’s recommendation. A listing with its own public web page gives those tools something to read.
  • Offline: QR codes on window cards, flyers at the open house, a follow-up email.

Syndication puts you on the portals. It doesn’t put you on the other four. A Boston listing that also shows up as a video on Instagram, a website search engines can find, and a flyer in the window reaches more of the right renters.

How Reallyo closes the gap

Reallyo does the portal syndication you’re used to: its network counts 19 rental sites, including Zillow (via HotPads), Apartments.com, Realtor.com, Apartment List and Zumper. Then it adds the marketing layer. From a single Boston listing it generates:

  • Listing page: each listing gets its own page on your Reallyo website, with a gallery, details, map and inquiry form.
  • AI listing video: a narrated, captioned video built from your listing photos, with AI voiceover and music, in vertical (Reels and TikTok), square or landscape format. No editor, no videographer.
  • Social posts: captions, hooks and post images written for that specific property, which you copy or download and post yourself.
  • AgentAI chatbot: on a Reallyo agent website, it answers renter questions from your own listings, qualifies the visitor and captures their name, email and phone.
  • PDF flyers and QR codes: print flyers and brochures built from the listing, each with a QR code back to it, plus a new-listing email you download as HTML and send yourself.

For a standalone website with its own address, Superlisting builds one for a single property from a listing link, with a gallery, map, contact form and structured data for search and AI assistants.

YGL treats a listing as something to distribute and transact; Reallyo treats it as something to market on every surface renters use. And it’s free to use to start. Fine print from Reallyo’s own site: US listings only, and acceptance depends on each partner’s rules, listing quality, location and account status.

Where each one actually wins

They’re built for different jobs:

  • YouGotListings is the stronger brokerage operating system. Its strengths are the deal workflow: a CRM, rentals-inventory management, a network of licensed professionals who share and pull listings (a genuine draw in co-broke-heavy Boston), showing automation, applications, credit reports and lease e-signatures. If your gap is running a rental brokerage’s operations, that depth is the reason to choose it.
  • Reallyo is the stronger listing marketer. It matches the syndication, then does the part YGL doesn’t: an AI listing video, social posts, flyers and a lead-answering chatbot, free to start with no per-user contract. If your gap is that your listings aren’t seen where renters look, that’s the reason to choose it.

So pick by your bottleneck. Operations and a broker network: YouGotListings. Marketing reach per listing: Reallyo. They’re not mutually exclusive. Because Reallyo is free to start and marketing-focused, an agent can run it alongside an existing back office just to add the video, social and website layer.

Other YouGotListings alternatives worth knowing

Reallyo is the marketing-first pick, but a few other tools come up when Boston agents and landlords look past YGL. Most are syndication-focused:

  • TurboTenant: an all-in-one landlord tool that advertises to a wide partner network alongside applications and screening. When we asked Gemini for YGL alternatives on 15 October 2026, it said TurboTenant syndicates to Zillow; TurboTenant’s own help centre says it “does not publish listings directly on Zillow.”
  • Innago: free landlord software with listing syndication to multiple sites; strong for self-managing landlords.
  • ShowMojo: syndication built around automated showings and scheduling, reaching partners such as the Zillow Group, Apartments.com and Realtor.com. See how its price compares with other rental showing tools.
  • Rental Beast: a rental-listings database and toolset for agents, with third-party syndication and tenant screening. ChatGPT put it first when we asked for YGL alternatives. It’s one of the rental lead sources we ranked by cost. Our Rental Beast review covers its pricing and what reviewers say.
  • Post direct to the portals: Zillow Rental Manager (Zillow, Trulia, HotPads) and Apartments.com both let you list directly on the biggest single audiences, free.

They’re all solid at distribution. The reason to choose Reallyo is everything that happens after the portal feed: the video, the social posts and the flyers that none of the syndication-only tools generate for you.

Should Boston rental agents switch?

To rent units faster, you have to meet a fragmented renter audience where it is, and portal syndication alone doesn’t get you there anymore. The agents winning Boston listings are the ones whose rentals show up on the portals and as video on social and as a flyer in the window, all from one listing, with a website of its own (Superlisting) for the listings that deserve one. That’s what Reallyo does, free to use to start. Our advice: keep whatever runs your back office today, put your next listing through Reallyo, and compare the enquiries.

FAQ

Is YouGotListings legit? Yes. YouGotListings is a legitimate, established rental software company, Y Combinator–backed and a long-time fixture of the Greater Boston rental market. It’s a real product; it’s built around portal syndication and the leasing workflow, so beyond the landing page its paid plans give each listing, it doesn’t generate the social posts and video a modern listing needs.

What does YouGotListings do? YouGotListings is rental-listing software for licensed agents, brokerages, owners and managers. It syndicates listings to rental portals (on its paid agent plans), shares inventory across a network of licensed professionals, and handles leads, showings, applications, credit reports and lease e-signatures. It’s built around getting your listing onto the portals and closing the lease, not marketing it across social and video.

How much does YouGotListings cost? $50 a month for one licensed agent (each extra user is $50 a month), or $195 a month for a team account with 20 users. Owners and managers list free, but their listings go to YGL’s network of licensed professionals rather than the portals. There’s no contract or setup fee (YGL plans, 19 October 2026).

Is there a better alternative to YouGotListings? For marketing, yes: Reallyo syndicates to the portals and turns each listing into a listing page, a video, social posts and flyers, free to start. For landlord-side syndication with screening, TurboTenant and Innago; for showings, ShowMojo; for an agent’s rental database, Rental Beast. If you need YGL’s brokerage workflow, keep YGL and add Reallyo for the marketing.

What’s the most effective way to advertise an apartment for rent? Get it onto the portals first (85% of renters use a listing site or app, per Apartments.com’s 2026 survey), then advertise it where the rest of the audience is: short-form video on Reels and TikTok, social posts, a shareable listing page, and flyers with a QR code. Reallyo produces all of it from a single listing.

What’s the best way to market a Boston rental? Start with portal syndication (table stakes), then market the listing where the renter audience is fragmented: short-form video, social posts and print, plus a website for the listing if it warrants one. Reallyo produces the listing page, video, posts and flyers from a single listing; Superlisting builds a standalone website.

Does Reallyo syndicate to the portals like YouGotListings? Yes. Reallyo sends rentals to the 19 sites in its syndication network, including Zillow (via HotPads), Apartments.com and Realtor.com, then adds a listing page, video, social posts and flyers on top. US listings only; acceptance depends on each partner’s rules.

Is Reallyo free? Yes. Reallyo is free to use to start, so you can market your first Boston listing and see the difference before you decide anything.

YouGotListings vs Reallyo: which is better? They win at different jobs. YouGotListings is the stronger brokerage operating system (CRM, a network of licensed professionals, showings, applications and e-signatures, priced per user). Reallyo is the stronger listing marketer (syndication plus a listing page, video, social posts and flyers, free to start). Choose YGL if your gap is operations; choose Reallyo if it’s marketing reach. Many agents could use both.

Is YouGotListings worth it? For an established Boston brokerage that needs a back office and a broker network, yes: it’s a capable, long-running platform. But it won’t market your listings on social or video. If that reach is what you’re missing, pair it with (or switch the marketing layer to) a tool like Reallyo, which is free to start.
